Hello!

My name is Becky or Bex or if I'm in trouble Rebecca! I also go by the name The Unicorn Mummy. I have a disability called Arthrogryposis and I’m a mummy to a cheeky 3 year toddler called Charlie.

I also get to be one of the lucky ones who gets to gloat about being married to her best friend!

I live in the seaside town of Blackpool with my husband Andy and we never run out of things to do as a family.

I'm a huge Disney fan and have an extremely addictive personality!

We thought the day of parenting would never come for us. My disability effects my joints and muscles and limits my walking.  I had so many thoughts going through my head - can I manage, how will I cope with the pregnancy, and how the hell will I give birth!

After 2 years of trying (which I know isn't long in the trying world) we made an appointment at our GP.  We had all the tests available under the sun, including a lovely dye test which included a balloon type tool being shoved up where no balloon should go!

After a year of tests and failed pregnancy tests we decided to chill out a bit.  We had our honeymoon coming up and to be honest there was no way I wanted to be pregnant in Disney World! I wanted to go on all the rides and eat all the food I wanted with no restrictions!

What happens when you chill and your honeymoon is 4 weeks away? You get bloody pregnant! It was amazing and now I can actually say I've taken to Charlie to Walt Disney World - technically.

If you wanting to read an honest blog from the viewpoint of being a new mummy with a disability, you've come to the right place!

I cant wait to share my stories with you!

Happy reading!

Love Bex x
